The proprietor of The Wedding Barns of Maine is the mother of three daughters. In 2009, her eldest daughter asked if she could have her wedding in the barn at the family's (then) home in North Yarmouth. Strongly disliking the idea of being a guest at her own daughter's wedding, the proprietor set out to painstakingly restore and refurbish what is now The Barn on Walnut Hill. The farmhouse, which had already undergone an extensive renovation, stood ready to welcome guests.

In 2011, the owner purchased the second of the two properties, The Barn at Flanagan Farm, after learning that the sacred space was two weeks away from becoming a fire drill for the local fire department. Yet again, she began the epic task of renovating and restoring the derelict farmhouse and barn. Today, The Barn at Flanagan Farm offers a tailor-made year-round setting for wedding events and other celebrations on over sixty acres of farm and forest.

The Wedding Barns of Maine have been featured in numerous national publications and recognized not only as two of the most beautiful venues in Maine but two of the most romantic venues in the United States.

Whether it is a fully catered event for 200 or a pot luck for 50, the beautifully restored 19th century barns and elegantly appointed farmhouses at The Barn on Walnut Hill and The Barn at Flanagan Farm offer couples an unforgettable backdrop to create their own weekend-long classic Maine wedding.
